Supporting Parents through the perinatal period and beyond

Welcome, I am Glad You’re Here! As a doula, I believe every family deserves compassionate and respectful support. My practice is inclusive and affirming of LGBTQ+ families, transgender and nonbinary parents, and people of all races, cultures, and identities.

Hi, I am Amy Scherer PCD (NAPS) certified postpartum doula, birth doula, sibling doula, nanny, and household assistant. Bringing a new baby into the world is one of life’s biggest transitions, and you don’t have to walk through it alone. As your doula, I provide calm, compassionate, and personalized support so you and your family feel nurtured, informed, and empowered every step of the way.

Your story matters, your choices matter, and your well-being matters. Let’s create a supportive foundation for you and your growing family together.

Nanny and household management experience

I moved to the Seattle area in 2011 and began work as a behavioral therapy assistant, working with children on the spectrum. I realized my strength was in caregiving and wanted to shift my focus to being a full-time nanny. Since 2012 I have worked with multiple families for 2+ years and helped welcome new family members, assisted in household management, and provided overnight and travel support. Experience with multiples and references available. Currently only taking short term nanny contracts.

I first learned about doulas when nannying for a family that was expecting their second child in 2014. I then became aware of how important doulas are when having my own children in 2018 and 2021. It was then that I decided that I wanted to dedicate my time to supporting parents and their transitional journey into parenthood. I did birth and postpartum doula training in 2023 at the Simkin Center at Bastyr University. I began volunteering for Perinatal Support Washington’s Warm Line in 2024. AND I have just become Medicaid certified. También yo hablo español.
